I’m delighted to have been invited along by Murray Newlands to speak at Europe’s leading social media event, the Social Media Marketing Conference, which will focus on the latest campaigns, techniques and theories for achieving viral marketing success.
I’ll be chatting about Writing Content for Humans, a subject close to my heart! SEO is so important when it comes to producing content, but it’s easy to fall into the trap where Google algorithms are the only thing you think about.
So what makes a blog post so instantly appealing we leap to Digg it or share it on Facebook? What headlines do we ignore and why?
I’ll be talking about how to make your content to go viral – how to make your posts more clickable, how to write eye-catching headlines and how to get your tweets retweeted. For the right reasons!

Something too many SEO’s forget. Its all very well being high up in google with a highly optimised page but if its boring and/or unreadable then viewers will simply hit the back button making all your work pointless (or worse if they decide never to bother with your site ever again).Same with focusing on generic terms CTR is all very well but you only make money at conversion from reader to buyer and machines don’t buy.
