We're looking for a Communications Manager to join our team in central Cambridge.

About the role

Full-time, though part-time may be considered (minimum 28 hours a week)

September 2019 start. Maternity cover.

£24k to £34k pro rata depending on experience.

Responsibilities include:

  • Content creation: writing blog posts, social media campaigns (organic and paid), email marketing, press releases, simple video and animations, and other editorial content

  • Creative lead on the Sookio marketing strategy developed by our new Sales and Marketing Executive, helping plan and implement the activity

  • Content creation for Sookio marketing channels: writing blog posts about digital marketing trends and creating social media posts

  • Working with our Digital Strategist to plan the communications activity and implement campaigns, and measure and monitor the success

  • Working with collaborators in video, animation, design, PR and SEO to ensure they understand the brief and the work is carried out to Sookio standard. This can include attending video shoots and getting the best out of our clients

  • Overseeing the production of Sookio School, promoting the courses on Skillshare and Teachable and growing the communities to build sales

  • are committed to excellent English in all written communication, from emails and text messages to content published on the web. We can’t stress this enough! Our clients trust us with their content, so applications containing sloppy English will be fast-tracked to the ‘no’ pile

Tools we use

Experience in publishing content on the main social media platforms is essential, whether personal or professional.

Experience in these would be a bonus but you can pick them up quickly if not:

  • Adobe Creative Suite and Canva

  • WordPress and Squarespace

  • Google Suite: Gmail, Calendar

  • Social media scheduling tools
