Neil McClarty of Jagex joins Sookio Masterclass panel

The panel for July's social media masterclass on the use of images and video on social media continues to expand and diversify! We're pleased to announce the addition of Neil McClarty from local games developers Jagex to our expert panel.

With over 480 employees, Jagex is the UK's biggest independent developers and publishers of online games, based in the St John's Innovation Centre right here in Cambridgeshire.

They're responsible for the development of, among other projects, Runescape, the world's largest free MMORPG (that's Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game, for the uninitiated).

As Marketing Director for Runescape, Neil knows a trick or two when it comes to promotion online. "Social media gives your business a ‘face’," he says, "and it’s important that you are as ‘human’ as possible, offering transparency, making every person within the community feel unique, and (probably most importantly) a bit of fun.

"The popularity of video and other visual platforms is growing exponentially and have become the cornerstone of our social media outreach."

With over 230 million registered players over its 13 year history, Neil and his team manage one of the largest communities in the world.
