3pm, Tuesday 8th February 2011 in central London. Venue to be confirmed - very soon!
We only announced our workshop Sweet Retweets (or How To Write For Social Media) on Wednesday evening, have done absolutely no advertising for the event and almost half the places have already been taken!
Teaming up with fellow editor Christine Cawthorne from Crocstar Media, who lectures in Online Journalism at the University of Sheffield and with whom I've worked for clients including AOL, Yahoo! and the DCSF, the workshop will offer practical advice for journalists, bloggers and brand managers on how to write for social media.
It's one of over eighty events taking place during Social Media Week London, led by Chinwag and running from 7 to 11th February 2011. At the same time San Francsico, São Paulo, Toronto, Hong Kong, New York, Paris, Rome and Hong Kong are holding social media weeks of their own, offering a global platform for people to connect and converse about emerging trends in social and mobile media.
Sweet Retweets will be a practical and informal workshop covering:
- how to write enticing blog titles
- how to craft headlines your readers will want to share
- how to get your tweets retweeted
- social media dos and dont's
- what words works on Facebook and other platforms
- working with text and images
- typos and double entendres.
And because it's a 3pm event there might even be tea and cake. Got to get your priorities right and all that.
