What’s new at Sookio HQ? New hires, new roles and new adventures…

It’s been a busy few months for Sookio, with new hires joining the team, some fantastic new roles for long-time Sookio staff, and new adventures for two Sookio alumni we’ve said goodbye to in 2022.

With 2023 just around the corner, we’ve assembled the perfect team to help our clients take on whatever challenges the new year sends their way…

New hires

We’ve been joined by two new team members this year, each bringing fresh skills and experience to Sookio:

Joe McMenamin

Joe has joined Sookio as our new Content Strategist. Having worked with prestigious organisations such as Oxford University Press, Cambridge Assessment and Cranfield University, he’s in sync with the way our clients think and knows what they’re looking for when they work with an agency like ours.

He’ll be working on projects through from devising the strategy to providing comprehensive monthly support.

"As someone who likes a fast-paced life, the idea of working in an ever-changing environment appealed to me greatly,” says Joe, when asked why he wanted to join Sookio. “The team here is hard-working and talented but also have a sense of humour, which is massively conducive to a healthy working environment. I love the idea of constantly challenging myself with new problems to solve and new creative solutions.”

Barry Denston

Barry joins the team as our new Sales Director. He’ll be the first point of contact when you come to Sookio looking for marketing expertise! With more than 15 years of experience in sales management and account management, Barry has worked with clients in sectors such as healthcare, education, manufacturing, and life sciences.

“Sookio is full of genuinely passionate people that want to have a positive impact,” says Barry. “There’s also an ethos of enjoying your work. The best part of the job is meeting new clients, and solving their problems to enable their business success!”

New roles

Sookio’s Clark Chapman has become our new Campaign and Insights Manager, focusing on managing targeted paid campaigns across Google Ads and social media channels. Having previously worked as our Digital Strategist, this move means he can now continue to build on his love of data, helping clients develop online campaigns with plenty of impact!

Imogen Lang has stepped up from Production Assistant to become our new Video Producer, developing creative video content as well as supporting other visual activities with photography and graphics.

New adventures

There are more changes here at Sookio HQ, as we say a fond farewell to Marisa Crimlis Brown, who is swapping agency life in Cambridge for a new role in Yorkshire.

We’re also saying goodbye to the brilliant Julia Latif, who is off to spend the next few months travelling around New Zealand.

We wish them both all the best in their upcoming adventures!
