Meet Sasha, Sookio’s savvy Social Media Assistant

Hello! My name is Sasha Patchett and I’m Sookio’s new Social Media Assistant.

I’m really excited to have joined the Sookio team and look forward to sharing my social media expertise while picking up lots of new digital marketing skills.

Fresh out of university, I joined Sookio the day I handed in my last assignment. A quick turnaround, but in the world of social media, it’s really nothing out of the ordinary.  I spent my last year of university discovering my love for digital marketing and creating @SPDigital.marketing on Instagram - a page where I share everything I learnt along the way.

Two months and 1300 followers later, I have picked up a colossal amount of tips and tricks.

One of the best pieces of advice I could give someone wanting to increase their Instagram followers would be to post what you would want to read. If you would scroll past, your audience will tool!

Post university I’ve been actively exploring the world of social media marketing. I love learning, so I’ve been completing lots of courses: ‘The fundaments of Digital Marketing’ with Google, various SEMrush courses on SEO, a HubSpot Digital Advertising certificate. I’m also doing a six-month course with Facebook via the Prince’s Trust.

I first crossed paths with Sookio when I was working on a university project for the agency. That’s when I met Director Sue Keogh, and we’ve kept in touch ever since. I couldn’t believe when I was actually sitting next to Sue in the office (socially distanced, of course!).

What’s my role at Sookio?

Although my primary role is lending my creative flair to the Sookio marketing team and contributing my social media expertise to client projects, I’m eager to get involved in as much as I can and continue pursuing my other strengths.

In the first couple of months at Sookio I’ve already broadened my skillset to the point where I can assist everyone in the team! From creating bold social media graphics and auditing YouTube channels to optimise sites, or supporting clients with content analysis and helping our Digital Strategist with SEO keyword research, I’m really enjoying the challenge. Along with my knack for social media management and graphic design, I’ve discovered auditing and reporting are my other strong points – how lucky that this is a vital tool for our amazing clients!

I feel that my newfound expertise and fresh eyes be an asset to the Sookio offering and help me build a unique role at the company – including sharing my knowledge on the Sookio blog!

More than a social media whiz

Outside of work, you can find me relaxing with an overly aggressive video game. I blame my dad for programming me as a gamer girl and bringing me up watching him play the same way. I like to class it as market research!

I also enjoy a good session at the gym to work off all my adrenaline. This stems from doing gymnastics for a decade before choosing the path of higher education and the fast-moving world of digital marketing.

In a time when it’s even more of a challenge than ever to get a job (especially one in my industry), I’m absolutely thrilled that Sookio has offered me my dream role and welcomed me to this wonderful family. Being a part of such a knowledgeable team filled with highly skilled individuals means I’m learning something new with every conversation! Overjoyed is an understatement and I look forward to continuing my digital marketing journey and putting my expanding skillset to work every day.
