The challenge

When we first spoke back in 2017, there was a strong sense that despite their core offering being as cutting edge as it gets, the communications strategy was missing some key elements.

A desire to get social media just right bred a wariness of getting it wrong, leading to practically no presence across the major channels.

Alongside this, they’d only just grown to include a dedicated marketing function, which gave us a blank slate to help bring their comms up to speed and making the most of the opportunity to reach new audiences and make themselves distinct from the competition.

The approach

Our long-term partnership with Cambridge Econometrics has led to a series of highly successful connected initiatives which have raised their profile and generated valuable relationships and leads in the UK, Europe and US.

Social media

  • Initial social media strategy to identify the right notes to hit

  • Twitter and LinkedIn training to develop familiarity with these key platforms

  • Social media policy to create a framework to work to

  • Monthly social media consultancy to report back on success and continuously upskill

Fresh video content

Content designed to make an impact on new recruits and potential clients:

  • Sustainable investment series

  • Founder insights, capturing their stories and outlining their vision for the path ahead

  • Animated ident for increased brand awareness

The results

The strategy we developed, and the knowledge our training gave their staff mean this effective communication will remain useful as their business continues to grow.

This growth is supported by our video work, showing Cambridge Econometrics in the best possible light and serving as a beacon to attract the best talent in the vibrant world of data.

In our first year of supporting them alone, Cambridge Econometrics gained the confidence to join the conversation on social media and demonstrate the benefit of their considerable expertise. This was reflected in the level of attention they drew.

Social media referrals went from driving 3.5% of their web traffic to 25% within 12 months, all without spending a penny on boosting posts.

  • Sookio’s approach was professional but what struck me was how passionate they were to support us and how much fun and energy they brought to it.

Sookio immediately understood our business need and greatly helped us start our journey on social media platforms.

Starting by developing our strategy and guiding us all the way through staff training, implementation and monitoring.

Sookio’s approach was professional but what struck me was how passionate they were to support us and how much fun and energy they brought to it. We look forward to developing new things together.
