Two nominations for Communication Untangled in podcast awards
We’re so happy to announce that the Sookio podcast has been shortlisted for not one but TWO categories at the Independent Podcast Awards 2025!
The awards celebrate the very best creators working outside of the big production houses, recognising originality, storytelling and impact across a range of categories. With judges drawn from across the industry, they shine a light on independent voices and the talent driving the podcasting world forward.

About the Communication Untangled podcast
It’s the podcast which explores the tiny facets of communication which influence our behaviour, but often go unnoticed. Together with expert guests, we untangle communication – helping you convey your ideas even more powerfully in your marketing, business or brand.
And we’ve untangled a lot of topics across the two series! From ticket design, to instructions on medical devices, to sound design in gaming, to menu design and the art of writing recipes, to colour psychology, and how Microsoft uses captions to build accessibility into its products.
Devised, researched and hosted by Sookio founder Sue Keogh and produced by Rob Birnie from Made By DBM, the goal from day one was to produce something of BBC Radio 4 quality.
A podcast series to give inspiration to business owners and marketing professionals, and enjoyable for people interested more widely in communications, society and culture too.

With decades between us of product quality radio, video and podcast content, we took care at every single stage, from planning to how we prepped the guests to the recording and editing process itself.
