Sookio wins Website of the Year in SME Cambs Business Awards 2019

We’re delighted to have brought home two trophies in the 2019 SME Cambridgeshire Business Awards; runner-up for Community Business and winner of Website of the Year.

Says our Director, Sue Keogh: “I’m so proud of the team! Everyone works so hard and it’s wonderful to earn recognition like this.

“I’m especially pleased for Krishna Solanki - who built the website so beautifully - and I wish her every success with her own business which is growing so fast already.”

About the awards

Community Business of the Year

As a small business, we like to think we punch above our weight when it comes to being charitable. We're not a big tech giant with a huge Corporate Social Responsibility budget it's more that we understand the potential for businesses to play a positive role in the community and we weave this into everything we do.

So we're really proud to have won silver, and well done to Switch CIC for being such worthy winners!

What have we been up to over the past year....?

Also on the doorstep is Anglia Ruskin University, where we just took part in a three-week mentoring project with students on the BA Animation and Illustration course.

2019 also saw us take our first work experience placements and run our first apprenticeship, enabling us to help the next generation enter the industry.

Website of the Year

As specialists in digital content, we are always advising people on their website - how to make it engaging, accessible and easy to navigate. So when it came to relaunching our own site just before Christmas, we wanted to put our money where out mouths were.

We're happy to say we've had a continual stream of glowing comments from people telling us they love the bold colours, the clear content and the overall confident look and feel.

Our cover girl, Betsy, has also won lots of fans. She's named after Sue's little Welsh firecracker of an aunt, who died aged 95 the week the new website went live. She'd be delighted about the nomination!

Special thanks again to our Squarespace designer Krishna Solanki, who has made sure it's structurally sound behind the scenes.

Sookio was also nominated in two categories in 2018. The Woodfines Business of the Year Less than 50 Employees award and the Anglia Ruskin University Business Innovation award

Well done to all the finalists! Find out who else won over at the SME Cambridgeshire Business Awards website.
